How to read this
These are estimates for planning, not a promise. Time saved only turns into cash saved when it replaces something you'd otherwise pay for, like overtime, a contractor or a new hire. Otherwise it's time back for the work you'd rather be doing.
The maths and sources
Yearly cost is hours a week × hourly cost × 52. Each scenario cuts the hours by 30%, 50% or 70%. Payback is your budget divided by the monthly value of the hours saved. The £15 default is the National Living Wage of £12.71 plus employer National Insurance and minimum pension, rounded up.
